How to care for metal figures

Using too much cleaner or polish could damage metal figures models, which you adore. So try some easy ways to protect them before they go in the danger zone. There is a small chance that the pollution around the house is causing rusting to the metal figures models, which you purchased. If you want to save it from the damage, then follow these simple tips: -

The metal figurines can get ruined inside the house too. Even tiny objects like key chains can get spoilt. So keep them away from…
•    Damp and high humidity areas. Keep them at such a place where they are not exposed to the sun. If you are placing a metal silhouette on the walls, do not place it near the window or somewhere near the sunlight. If you have collected US Air Force Key Chain and US Navy Key Chain, then do not hang it on your bags. The sunlight and pollution will damage your key chains early.
•    External sources like sulphur dioxide and smoke around the house can damage the metal pieces that you have.

•    Do not use cleaning chemicals to wipe metal objects. This will damage their look, and you will have to polish it every now and then.

•    Keep away from spills and food residues like vinegar, ketchup, juices, salt and other things in the house. You can use home-made solutions like, toothpaste to clean the metals. Other than these, you can mix baking soda and water mixture to clear out the dirt on the metal objects. This will also make them shine a little and help in retaining the color.

•    If you do not dust the furniture or house regularly, then you will see rust catching up on the objects. Moisture can also attract accumulation of dirt on the objects without you knowing. So make sure you check time to time whether the metal figures are in a good shape or not.

•    You can also use dish detergent to clean the metal objects. Use a soft brush to clear the dirt on top of the figures. Blend the soap with warm water and slowly clean with a soft cloth or brush. Wash it out with little water and you will see the magic.
•    Other than this, you can also give your metal figures a warm water bath. Take a soft lint free cloth and dip it in warm water. Now wipe the metal object with this cloth and leave it out on the desired place. This will bring a little shine to the objects, and you will not need to polish it every now and then.

Taking care of metal handicrafts can be a task, but if you avoid chemicals and harsh sunlight with pollution around it, you can save it from major damage.
